Since the last technology update on October 30, we have focused on tightening the core Fitcoin loop: sign in quickly, connect Health, see a fair score, and turn that into rewards with as little friction as possible. This update highlights the bigger changes that shipped in November.
Accounts and profile
- Multi-provider login (Apple, Google, and email) now routes into a single Fitcoin profile so you can pick the sign-in option that suits you.
- Profile gets a clearer header with avatar, FitCoin balance, lifetime FitScore, and a simple “member since” date pulled from your actual account creation time.
- Username handling is stricter and more reliable, reducing edge cases where two people try to claim the same handle at once.
Social and referrals
- Friend requests now come through as push notifications that open directly into the Social tab so you can accept or decline in one tap.
- Referral rewards are fully server-backed: when someone joins with your code, both of you receive +100 FitCoin in a way that survives refreshes and device changes.
- Social views use a single, consistent FitScore model so lifetime and weekly stats line up with what you see on Home and Activity.
HealthKit and scoring
- HealthKit permissions are now requested more cleanly, with clearer separation between the data types we read and fewer repeated prompts.
- A server-backed HealthKit start date prevents accidental “reset to zero” if you reinstall or move devices.
- Lifetime FitScore and redeemed FitScore are tracked explicitly so your total effort only ever goes up, while your spendable balance stays accurate.
Rewards and catalogue
- Rewards now live in Firestore with a dedicated manager layer, so new offers and featured slots can be updated without shipping a new app build.
- The iOS app and rewards page both read from the same rewards data, keeping partner tiles and featured sections in sync. Browse the catalog on our live rewards page.
- An internal console lets us safely add, edit, and feature offers with proper access controls instead of hard-coding items into the app.
Ask AI and web
- Ask AI now lives inside the iOS app as a lightweight chat bubble on Home with a daily message allowance.
- The marketing site has been brought in line with the product: typography, icons, and the rewards page now better reflect the in-app experience.
Looking ahead
Next up: deeper device integrations, more robust scoring fairness across different training styles, and a broader rewards catalogue. If you want to trial Fitcoin with your community or brand, reach us any time at hello@fitcoin.co.
Thanks for being early on this journey. We’ll keep the public updates focused on what matters: connecting your movement to rewards in a way that feels simple, fair, and private by default.
