Running is easier to return to when people are waiting for you. That is the idea behind Fitcoin Run Club: an open community where the distance matters less than getting out, meeting people and moving together.
Why we started it
Fitcoin already connects movement, friendly competition and rewards inside the app. Run Club brings that same idea into the real world. It gives members a regular reason to meet, move at their own pace and turn a workout into something social.
This is not meant to be an intimidating race group. Some people want to push a quick 5K. Others want a shorter route, a steadier pace or simply a reason to start. Both belong in the same community.
Our first Run Club
We held the first Fitcoin Run Club on Sunday, July 12 in Regent's Park. A brilliant turnout joined us, with a 5K route and a 3K option so people could choose the distance that suited them.
The best part was how quickly it felt like a community rather than a one-off event. People ran together, waited for each other, met somebody new and stayed around long after the final group finished.
The run was only the beginning
Afterwards we headed to Baked Bird for discounted food, music from @dj_ruqs and a proper chance to relax together. Members also enjoyed discounted beer from The Queen Charlotte. The social side was not an extra added at the end. It was part of the point.
Movement can introduce people who might never otherwise meet. Sharing food and music afterwards turns that introduction into a real connection. That is the feeling we want every Fitcoin Run Club to keep.
What comes next
July 12 was the first event, not the whole story. We want Run Club to become a consistent part of Fitcoin, with welcoming routes, more community moments and new reasons to move together.
The format can grow, but the principle stays simple: turn up, choose your pace and leave feeling better than when you arrived.
