The walking ladder, not a linear coin
WeWard does not pay a clean “X steps = 1 Ward” all day. It pays milestones. You convert once, before midnight, and you receive the Wards for the highest milestone you reached, not a stack of every lower milestone as separate bonuses on top of each other in a confusing extra way. Hitting 10,000 after converting at 5,000 should add the difference toward the higher milestone, not waste the day, as long as you convert again if the app requires it. In practice, convert when you are done walking, before midnight.

The green-star goal is personalised from recent activity and can add 2 Wards. The walking cap around 25 Wards a day is why “just walk more” stops scaling. After that, extra income is ads, games, shopping, referrals and challenges, which is no longer a walking app in the pure sense.
What a Ward is worth
Wards are not pounds or dollars until you redeem an offer. WeWard’s shop shows different cash, gift-card and charity options by country.
A durable 2026 US example: about 2,050 Wards for $15 via PayPal or Venmo. That is roughly $0.0073 per Ward, or half a cent in round language. A common European example: around 3,000 Wards for €15 by bank transfer.
If your shop currently lists 2,400 Wards for $15, your walking day is worth less than the table above. Always divide the live threshold by the Wards you actually bank.
How long until $15 from walking only
Assume 10 Wards a day (10,000 steps plus green star, converted every day, no missed midnights). That is 300 Wards in 30 days. At 2,050 Wards per $15 you need about 205 converted days (roughly seven months) if walking is the only source.
Miss two conversions a week and the calendar stretches past a year. Hit 25 Wards daily and you can theoretically reach $15 in about 82 days, which means 20,000 steps plus extras, every day. Most people do not live that schedule.
This is why WeWard can be both the strongest cash-style walker and still a poor “make money” app. The payout is real. The rate is the product.
Walking versus ads, surveys and referrals
WeWard will offer more Wards for videos, games, partner offers and inviting friends. Those can shrink time-to-payout. They also change the job: you are now using a general rewards app that happens to include a pedometer.
