Samsung Galaxy Fit 4: Leaks, Specs and Release Date So Far

Published November 2, 2026 • By Harris Khan • 9 min read

Samsung's next budget fitness band, the Galaxy Fit 4, was widely expected to arrive alongside the company's other autumn hardware in September. That did not happen, and as of early November 2026 it is still a collection of leaks rather than a product you can buy. The good news is that those leaks are fairly detailed, so we have a reasonable picture of what Samsung is building. Here is everything that has surfaced so far, what it likely means for the final product, and some advice on whether to wait or buy something else in the meantime.

What has actually been confirmed

The firmest evidence comes from Samsung's own regulatory paperwork. The device carries the model number SM-R391, and Samsung's internal documents refer to it simply as FIT4. It appeared in an FCC filing dated 4 August 2026, tested as hardware revision 2.0, and the one specification nailed down in that filing is Bluetooth 5.4 with both low energy and EDR. The Galaxy Fit 3, which this band would replace, used Bluetooth 5.3. In day-to-day use you will not notice the difference, but it does confirm this is a genuinely new radio and not a rebadged Fit 3.

Android Authority also spotted a Goodix GH3036 optical sensor module in Samsung documentation linked to the device. Goodix makes that part for low-power heart-rate and pulse-wave tracking, so it fits exactly what you would expect inside a band like this. Every Fit so far has had an optical heart-rate sensor, and this suggests the Fit 4 will too. Component suppliers can change between a summer filing and the final product, so we would not read any specific new health features into the part number, but it is a reassuring sign that the fundamentals are in place.

A separate leak of companion-app assets, reported by Notebookcheck among others, points to a display resolution of 258 by 428 pixels and support for up to 12 tiles on the watch face. The Fit 3's panel was listed at 256 by 402, so this would be a slightly taller, slightly denser screen with a bit more room for complications. Then, on 22 October, colour renders and a short video leaked showing the band in black, white and a pale blue or mint. The pink-gold option from the Fit 3 was not among them, though colour lineups often grow after launch.

What is still up in the air

The list of things we do not know is longer than the list we do. GPS, NFC, battery life, weight, water rating, price and release date have all yet to appear in anything Samsung has published. Some outlets have taken the absence of GPS and NFC in the certification file and reported it as confirmation that the Fit 4 will not have them. That is a stretch. Radio filings are about the radios being tested, and a lab can certify Bluetooth without listing every other component inside the case. It is fair to say nobody has seen evidence of GPS or NFC, but it is not fair to say Samsung has ruled them out. The Fit 3 did without both, so our expectation is that the Fit 4 will too, but that is an educated guess rather than a fact.

The same caution applies to the January 2027 date you may have seen floating around. That date comes from when part of the FCC confidentiality request can expire, which is a paperwork deadline rather than a launch plan. The September rumour, which had the band arriving around IFA, has already come and gone. A launch before the end of 2026 is still possible, and so is a quiet early-2027 release. Samsung has released Fit bands on their own schedule before, often well after the flagship phones.

Price guesses of $60 to $80 are mostly people working from the Fit 3, which launched in the US around $60 and dropped lower fairly quickly. A sharper screen and a couple of years of inflation could nudge the number up a little, but Samsung's strategy with this line has always been to undercut Fitbit rather than match it, so we would be surprised to see it stray far from that range.

Galaxy Fit 4 at a glance, as of 2 November 2026

Confirmed: model number SM-R391, internal name FIT4, Bluetooth 5.4, an FCC filing from August 2026, and a leaked design that closely resembles the Fit 3 in black, white and light blue. Unconfirmed: GPS, NFC, battery life, price and the release date.

Who the Galaxy Fit is actually for

It helps to remember what this line is. The Galaxy Fit is Samsung's option for people who want steps, heart rate, sleep tracking and notifications on a small screen without paying Galaxy Watch prices or charging a watch every night. The Fit 3 does that job well: a rectangular AMOLED display, a single button, a comfortable silicone strap, connected GPS from your phone rather than its own chip, and everything syncing into Samsung Health. From everything that has leaked, the Fit 4 is a careful refresh of that formula with a newer radio and a slightly redrawn screen rather than a reinvention.

That is perfectly fine if the price stays near the Fit 3 and the battery stays near two weeks. Where people may be disappointed is if they were hoping for Samsung's answer to the Fitbit Edge. The Edge costs $179.99 and brings built-in GPS, ECG and a week of battery, which puts it in a completely different bracket. A band that costs around $60 does not need to compete with a $180 tracker. Its real competition is the Xiaomi Smart Band 11, which is already on sale in Europe for €59.99 with a brighter 1.72-inch display and published battery figures.

One more thing worth saying plainly: if you use an iPhone, the Fit 4 is probably not for you regardless of how it turns out. Samsung Health is at its best on a Galaxy phone, and the Fit line has never been a great way to get data into Apple Health. A Fitbit, a Polar, or honestly just your phone will be a smoother experience.

Our advice while we wait

If you were about to buy a Fit 3 at full price, it is worth pausing for a week or two and watching the discounts. When a successor is close, the outgoing model tends to get cheaper, and the older colourways often get cleared out. We would not pause for a whole season, though. A missed September and an empty Samsung store page is not a timeline you can plan around.

If you need built-in GPS so you can leave your phone at home, nothing in these leaks suggests the Fit 4 will give you that, so there is no reason to wait. The Fitbit Charge 6 is on a real, dated discount right now, and the Edge is the newer option if you want the bigger screen. If you simply want the cheapest good band available today, the Xiaomi Smart Band 11 is here now, and our cheapest Fitbit guide covers the budget end of Google's range.

And if you are on a Galaxy phone, happy with Samsung Health and your Fit 3 still lasts the week, keep wearing it. A few extra pixels and a newer Bluetooth version will not change your sleep score. We will update this page with Samsung's official specs and pricing as soon as the Fit 4 is announced.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Samsung Galaxy Fit 4 official?

Not yet. Samsung has not announced it, but the band has passed through the FCC under the model number SM-R391, Samsung's own documents call it FIT4, and colour renders leaked on 22 October 2026. It is clearly a real product in development; it just does not have a launch date.

What are the Galaxy Fit 4 specs?

The only confirmed specification is Bluetooth 5.4. Leaks point to a Goodix optical heart-rate sensor, a 258 by 428 pixel display that is slightly taller than the Fit 3's, and black, white and light blue colour options. GPS, NFC, battery life and weight have not been confirmed.

When will the Galaxy Fit 4 be released?

Nobody outside Samsung knows for certain. A September 2026 launch was rumoured and did not happen. A release before the end of 2026 is still possible, and early 2027 is also plausible. The January 2027 date some sites mention is an FCC paperwork deadline, not an announcement.

Should I wait or buy a Fit 3?

If you are happy with a Fit 3 and can find one at a good discount, buy it; the Fit 4 looks like a modest refresh rather than a major upgrade. If you want built-in GPS, look at the Fitbit Charge 6 or Edge instead, as nothing in the leaks suggests the Fit 4 will have it.
