Bevel vs Livity (2026): Which Apple Watch Recovery App Wins?

Fitcoin fitness rewards app on iPhone and Android, with Sleep, Recovery and Energy

Bevel and Livity are the two Apple Watch health dashboards people now confuse in search: same Recovery / Strain / Sleep vocabulary, same iPhone, same argument about whether you still need Whoop. If you typed Liberty versus Bevel, you almost certainly meant Livity. There is not a major recovery app in this lane called Liberty. Livity is the App Store listing (Sleep & Health Tracker). Bevel is the more finished product. Livity is the cheaper, faster-moving one that also leans on Garmin, Fitbit and Oura. The integers will disagree because the recipes disagree.

If you wanted the Watch-only fork people already click, that is still Bevel vs Athlytic. If you wanted a wider exit list, see apps like Bevel. This page is the head-to-head with Livity.

Short verdict: Pick Bevel if you want a polished health OS and you will use Energy Bank, nutrition, strength and the Pro rooms. Pick Livity if you want a lower bill, on-device core maths, and a dashboard that also treats Garmin or Oura as first-class inputs. Give whichever you choose two weeks of overnight wear before you decide. Do not train on both numbers.

Disclosure: Fitcoin is our product. We are not affiliated with Apple, Garmin, Whoop, Bevel, Athlytic, Livity, Gentler Streak, HRV4Training or the other apps named here. Where Fitcoin appears, it is as a Sleep, Recovery and Energy companion that also scores workouts for partner rewards, not a PayPal cash-out app. Scores described below are wellness estimates for general fitness. They are not medical devices and they do not diagnose illness.

What they actually share

Both sit on Apple Health. Both print Recovery and readiness from HRV, resting heart rate, sleep and recent training. Both add Strain or training-load language, a Sleep view, Stress and an energy-style tank. Both have widgets and Watch complications. Both now talk to more than the Watch: Bevel documents Oura, Garmin and Fitbit (Fitbit via Google Health) plus one-way Strava workout sync. Livity's App Store copy lists Apple Health, Apple Watch, Garmin, Fitbit and Oura, with Livity 5.0 calling out direct Oura alongside Garmin and Fitbit. The old talking point that "only Livity does Garmin" is stale. Both are hubs. The difference is finish, rooms and price.

Both are iPhone-only. Livity asks for iOS 17 or later. Bevel asks for iOS 18 or later and watchOS 10.6 or later. A Garmin-only Android user is not the audience for either app, even if the watch is a Fenix. The interpretation layer still lives on iOS.

Bevel: the wider health OS

Bevel documents Recovery as 1–100% from resting heart rate, HRV, respiratory rate, SpO2 and wrist temperature, against a rolling 60-day baseline. Strain is active plus passive effort, with a Target Strain window from recent Recovery. Sleep Score uses time asleep, REM, deep, heart-rate dip, efficiency and continuity. Energy Bank is a rolling account: recovery, sleep, strain and stress can carry debt into tomorrow. That is not Garmin Body Battery's same-day graph. People who wanted yesterday to still count like it. People who wanted a daily charge-and-drain often feel it is wrong. The glossary is in Bevel scores explained.

The free plan, as Bevel listed it through 2026, already includes Recovery, Sleep, Strain, Stress, Nutrition, Strength, Energy Bank, cycle tracking, fitness tracking, health monitors and journal. Pro adds Bevel Intelligence, Health Records and Biological Age, listed at $14.99 a month or $99.99 a year. That is the most expensive subscription in this Watch-recovery cluster. It is also the most rooms. If you will not open nutrition or Intelligence, you are paying for a magazine you skip.

Livity: the cheaper cockpit, still being sanded

Livity's public pitch is a daily push / maintain / rest answer from Recovery and readiness (HRV, resting heart rate, sleep, recent training), plus sleep stages and debt, training load and Strain, heart-rate zones, routes and splits, Stress, energy, fitness age, an AI coach, food, water, journal, habits and blood-report tracking. Core health calculations, the listing says, happen on the device. You choose which optional integrations and AI features to use. That privacy line is closer to Athlytic than to a cloud-first coach. Confirm the live App Store privacy label; labels move.

The product is iterating in public. Livity 5.0 added water tracking (free), 100-plus badges, Oura, Blood Reports and recalibrated Strain. Developer replies on the App Store have owned a fitness-age bug (vigorous minutes) and loading delays, with 4.3.x and later notes aimed at speed. That is the maturity trade. Bevel feels like a shipped OS. Livity feels like a small team shipping every few weeks. Some people want that velocity. Some people want the dashboard to sit still.

Price: core Recovery, Sleep, Strain, Stress and Energy are usable without paying. Premium (AI coach and extra depth) is cheaper than Bevel Pro; yearly figures on the US App Store have sat near $59.99 depending on the offer. Do not budget from a screenshot. Open the listing.

Athlytic remains the third door if Bevel felt like a magazine and Livity still feels like too many rooms. The dedicated fork is Bevel vs Athlytic. Gentler Streak is the personality swap if both cockpits make you train angry; that comparison is Bevel vs Gentler Streak.

The two-week test

  1. Wear the Watch overnight. Charge before bed. Snug enough for optical HR.
  2. Connect only the wearables you actually wear. A dormant Garmin login is not a feature.
  3. Pick one headline app. Keep the other for curiosity if you like.
  4. Write down one session you changed because Recovery or Target said so. If nothing changed, cancel.

If Recovery is blank, fix Health permissions before you buy Pro or Premium. Missing overnight HRV is still the usual culprit: the Watch was on the nightstand.

Frequently asked questions

Is Livity better than Bevel?

Livity is the better pick if you want a cheaper, on-device-first recovery dashboard that also reads Garmin, Fitbit and Oura, and you will accept a faster-moving, less polished app. Bevel is the better pick if you want the more finished health OS: Energy Bank, Strength Builder, Nutrition, and Pro extras such as Bevel Intelligence, Health Records and Biological Age. They will not print the same percentage.

Is Livity the same as Liberty?

No. The App Store product is Livity: Sleep & Health Tracker. People searching Liberty versus Bevel almost always mean Livity. There is not a major Apple Watch recovery app called Liberty in this category.

Do Bevel and Livity work on Android?

No. Both are iPhone apps. Livity lists iOS 17 or later; Bevel lists iOS 18 or later and watchOS 10.6 or later. Garmin or Oura data still funnels through the iPhone app. If you need Health Connect on Android, that is a different category.

Which is cheaper, Bevel or Livity?

Both keep core scores on a free tier. Bevel Pro is listed at $14.99 a month or $99.99 a year for Intelligence, Health Records and Biological Age. Livity's Premium (AI coach and extra rooms) has sat well under that, with yearly App Store figures around $59.99 depending on offer. Confirm the live listing; prices move.

Can I use Bevel and Livity together?

You can install both. You should not train on both numbers. Recipes and baselines are private, so Tuesday can be 71% in Bevel and something else in Livity. Pick one headline for whether to push or go easy.

Method and sources: Written 15 September 2026 from Bevel's public help and pricing (Recovery, Strain, Sleep, Energy Bank; Pro listed at $14.99/month or $99.99/year), the Livity App Store listing (id 6498938838: Apple Health, Watch, Garmin, Fitbit, Oura; on-device core calculations; Livity 5.0 notes on water, badges, Blood Reports and Strain recalibration), Health App Insider's 2026 Bevel and recovery-app coverage, and our Bevel vs Athlytic notes.
