Garmin Cirqa Smart Ring: Release Date, Price and Every Leak So Far

Published October 17, 2026 • By Harris Khan • 10 min read

Garmin's first smart ring has been certified in three countries under its own name and announced in none. Here is every piece of evidence for the Cirqa Smart Ring in date order, what a Garmin ring would realistically do, why the price estimates sit at $199 to $249, and whether it is worth holding off on an Oura Ring 5.

Where things stand on 17 October 2026

Garmin has not announced a smart ring. What exists is a regulatory paper trail that is unusually hard to explain any other way: a device literally named CIRQA SMART RING in Indonesia's certification database on 12 August, ten related model numbers approved together in Brazil in September, and a Chinese filing on top. Price guesses cluster at $199 to $249. The launch window most leak trackers expect is late October to early November, with CES in January as the fallback. If you are choosing between an Oura Ring 5 and waiting, read on. If you need a ring this week, buy the ring, because nobody outside Garmin knows the date.

This page tracks every verifiable piece of evidence about the Cirqa ring, separates it from the guesswork, and sets out what a Garmin ring would realistically do based on how the Cirqa Smart Band already behaves. We will update it when Garmin says something. Until then, treat every spec you read anywhere, including here, as inference.

The evidence, in order

DateWhat appearedHow solid
12 August 2026Certificate 125338/DJID/2026 in Indonesia's SDPPI database, filed by PT Garmin Indonesia Distribution, product name CIRQA SMART RING, category fitness product, manufactured in Taiwan. The entry was pulled from public view shortly after.Strong. A regulator published Garmin's own product name.
Early September 2026Brazil's Anatel approved ten Garmin model variants on one day: A05124 through I05124 plus AA5124. AA5124 had appeared in the Indonesian batch alongside the ring.Strong on the link, inferential on the meaning. Ten variants of one product is what ring sizes look like, not watch colours.
September 2026A matching filing surfaced in China, extending the same family across a third market.Moderate. Reported by leak trackers, consistent with the other two.
10 September 2026Garmin Connect 5.28.1 and 5.29 shipped strings for a CIRQA Smart Band Pro, with two buttons and spoken stats. New Cirqa device identification code landed in the same builds.Strong for the Band Pro. Indirect for the ring, but it shows Garmin is building out the Cirqa line in software.
7 October 2026Gadgets and Wearables listed the Cirqa Smart Ring, a Cirqa Smart Band Pro and a tactix 9 as the most likely near-term Garmin launches.Analysis, not a leak.
17 October 2026No press release, no product page, no teaser from Garmin.Certain. We checked.

Certification normally precedes sale by six to twelve weeks. The Indonesian filing is now nine weeks old and the Brazilian one about six. That is why the leak community keeps circling late October or early November. It is also why the alternative, CES 2027 in the second week of January, is not a stretch: Garmin would not be the first company to sit on approved hardware for a bigger stage.

What a Garmin ring would almost certainly do

Garmin does not build a new metrics engine per device. The Cirqa band, the Vivoactive, the Forerunner and the Fenix all run the same Firstbeat-derived physiology. A ring would inherit it. Based on what the band already does without a screen, here is the realistic feature list.

  • Sleep staging, sleep score and HRV status. Garmin's overnight HRV baseline is one of the best-regarded in the category and needs nothing more than an optical sensor and an accelerometer. A ring is a better place for that sensor than a wrist.
  • Body Battery. The all-day energy estimate that people actually look at. It is the ring-shaped feature Garmin has lacked.
  • Training Readiness. The daily score that blends sleep, HRV, recovery time and load. On a ring it would come from sleep and HRV mostly, with workouts from a paired watch or phone.
  • Stress and respiration. Standard across every current Garmin device.
  • Open sync. Garmin Connect writes to Apple Health and Health Connect. That has been the Cirqa band's quiet advantage over Whoop and Oura, and a ring would keep it.
  • No required subscription. Garmin sells Connect+ as an optional extra. The band's headline metrics are free. We would be surprised if the ring changed that, because the whole Cirqa pitch is that you own the data.

What it probably would not do

  • Count steps better than a watch. Rings count steps from the hand. Expect the usual over-counting while typing and under-counting while pushing a pram, exactly as the Oura does.
  • Replace a running watch. No GPS, no pace. Garmin would sell it as the sleep and recovery half of a two-device setup, with a watch on the wrist for sessions.
  • Offer a button. The band's button starts activities and broadcasts heart rate over ANT+. A 2mm titanium ring has nowhere to put one, so expect gestures or nothing.

Price: why $199 to $249 is the right range

The Cirqa band costs $199.99 in the US, £179.99 in the UK and €199 in Europe, and its one-off price against Whoop's annual membership is the centre of Garmin's marketing. A ring priced above the Oura Ring 5's $399 would undercut that story. A ring priced at the band's level would make the argument obvious: the same metrics as Oura, at half the price, with no monthly fee. $199 to $249 is where every analyst estimate lands. One outlier puts a ceiling at $299, which would still be $100 under Oura before the membership is counted.

Should you wait?

Wait if you already own a Garmin watch. A Cirqa ring would feed the same Body Battery and Training Readiness you look at today, from a finger instead of a wrist you take off at night, and nothing Oura sells talks to Garmin Connect. Even on the CES timeline that is three months, and a Forerunner owner has lived without a ring this long.

Wait if the subscription is the thing stopping you buying an Oura. Garmin's entire Cirqa strategy is built on not charging monthly, and the ring would be the first serious ring from a major sports brand on that model. RingConn and Ultrahuman already offer it, which is why our Oura alternatives guide ranks them highly, but neither has Garmin's training pedigree.

Do not wait if you want the best sleep interpretation available this year, because the Oura Ring 5 is still that, and a first-generation Garmin ring will have first-generation firmware. Do not wait if you are on a Galaxy phone and deep in Samsung Health, where the Galaxy Ring fits better than anything Garmin would make. And do not wait on a specific date, because the one thing every leak agrees on is that nobody has one.

The Cirqa Smart Band Pro, briefly

The same Garmin Connect builds that added ring device code also named a Cirqa Smart Band Pro, with instructions referring to a separate activity button and controls button, volume adjustment and stats read aloud. That points to a speaker and two buttons on a band that currently has one of each. A second Indonesian certificate, model A05293, appeared on 10 September and may be that device. Price estimates run $249 to $299. If the ring and the Band Pro arrive together, Garmin would have a three-tier screenless line within six months of entering the category, which tells you how seriously it is taking Whoop.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Garmin Cirqa Smart Ring real?

A product named CIRQA SMART RING was certified in Indonesia on 12 August 2026 under Garmin's own distributor, and ten matching model variants were approved in Brazil in September. Garmin has not announced it. The hardware is almost certainly real; the launch date is not public.

When will the Garmin Cirqa ring be released?

Nobody outside Garmin knows. Certification timing points to late October or early November 2026. If that passes, CES in January 2027 is the next obvious stage. Garmin has given no date.

How much will the Garmin smart ring cost?

Estimates from outlets tracking the filings range from $199 to $249, with one putting a ceiling at $299. The Cirqa band costs $199.99 and Garmin's pitch against Oura and Whoop is the lack of a subscription, so a sub-$250 price would fit.

Will the Garmin ring need a subscription?

Unconfirmed, but unlikely. The Cirqa band gives you Training Readiness, HRV status, sleep and Body Battery free, with Connect+ as an optional extra. Charging monthly for the ring would contradict the whole Cirqa line.

Will it work with iPhone?

The Cirqa band works with iPhone and Android through Garmin Connect, which also writes to Apple Health and Health Connect. There is no reason to expect a ring to be more restrictive.

Should I buy an Oura Ring 5 now or wait for Garmin?

Buy Oura if sleep interpretation is your priority and you accept the membership. Wait if you own a Garmin watch, want everything in Garmin Connect, or refuse subscriptions on principle. Do not wait for a specific date, because there is not one.
